Greater Prince William County offers a range of recreational opportunities, including golf, museums, regional parks and more. Linton Hall residents can easily venture outside their small community to explore many educational, recreational and cultural activities. State Routes 619, 28, 234 and Interstate 66 provide access to neighboring communities throughout the county and the state.
Golf is a large part of the Virginia lifestyle. In fact, there are at least eight golf courses within 10 miles of Linton Hall. Four are located in Gainesville, two in Bristow, one in Nokesville, and another in Haymarket.
Bull Run Regional Park is a large family park with campgrounds, a swimming pool, miniature golf, Frisbee golf, horse and hiking trails, and playgrounds and picnic areas. The park is operated by the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority.
Attractions
Popular tourist attractions nearby include Manassas National Battlefield Park, Old Town Manassas, and Bull Run Regional Park. The battlefield is the site of two major Civil War battles in the early 1860s. Visitors can take a self-guided walking tour or driving tour to learn about the First and Second Battles of Manassas. The site is also used for bird watching, fishing, and hiking.
Old Town Manassas is a quaint and historic downtown that features museums, fine dining and boutique shopping. Many visitors arrive in Manassas looking for antiques, while others are in search of unique crafts. Others may also want to take a step back in time by experiencing the Freedom Museum, the Manassas Museum, the Confederate Cemetery and the many other museums that are clustered in Manassas.
